Whispering Pines Campground

Family lives a few miles away so this is a convenient spot for us.

Campsites are very crowded with little outdoor space between the sites. We could not open our awning. Mostly full timers, looked like a lot of contractors staying there.

The bathrooms and laundry wer nice and spotless. It was quiet and peaceful there. A nice lake with rental boats.

Wi Fi was spotty at best.

This campground was nice to stay at, with level grassy spots, a fun playground for the kiddos and plenty of space to run around, outstanding Verizon service, warm showers, and propane refills, and water/electric hook-ups. It also seems to be a popular hook-up spot for the local squirrels.

Nice clean and quiet campground. We were in site RV47, a grass spot, fairly level but water and electric only and there’s a $10 charge to use their dump station. Our site’s tv cable was damaged/broken and they discounted our fee accordingly. Staff was very nice. About 15 miles/30 minute drive to Savannah Visitor Center and historic district.
We would definitely stay here again.

Long term sites and process are hard to pin down and understand. Wanted to stay 4 weeks but would have had to pay weekly rate which about 65% of the monthly rate for one week. Hope to be able to spend a couple of months here in the winter. Under new ownership so hopefully kinks are worked out. Happy with all other aspects of the stay.
