“preserving the history of Elk County”
The Elk County Historical Society was founded May 21, 1964 and incorporated in 1974. We are located in Ridgway, the county seat of Elk County, in northwestern Pennsylvania. Our organization consists of a Victorian Era house containing Victorian style furnishings throughout and includes a Doctor’s Office; the Robinson museum, containing exhibits, a book store, and the genealogy research room with its various research tools; and Decker’s Chapel, located in St. Marys and available for your own private ceremonies. The Society is a nonprofit membership organization funded through memberships, donations, and grants, and governed by a 15-member Board of Directors. The Society has a 501© tax exempt status
