Blue Heron Nature Center

This was perfect for us! Right off the highway (hidden behind a gas station?...). Kids could run and stretch. Clean. Spotted animals. Good spot for a stretch. (There was a porta-potty in the parking lot when we were there. But, we didnt use it, cant attest to the cleanliness of it. ;).

Pavilion and grassy area with trails. No facilities. One picnic table being used when we arrived, so we spread a blanket on the grass. Close to freeway so we stopped for a stretch and some aquatic views. We saw turtles, ducks, blue gill, catfish, ducks, and a frog the size of 1/2 my pinky nail. Local bakery next to Walgreens in front of Nature Preserve.
