Jefferson Lake State Park is located in Jefferson County, 10 miles northwest of Steubenville and within an hour's drive southeast of Canton. The peaceful forest and scenic lake provide for a quiet wilderness escape. Go hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding on 20 miles of multiple-use trails (bring your own horse). Scenic picnic areas have picnic tables and grills, along with reservable shelterhouses. The nature center offers interesting and educational displays and nature programs provide great family entertainment all summer long. Pitch your tent or park your RV on one of 98 wooded non-electric campsites. Showers are available at the beach area. Pets are allowed on designated sites. Horsemans Camping is available. 17-acre Jefferson Lake offers swimming and sunbathing on a sand beach. Enjoy laid-back boating, limited to canoeing, sailing or boats with electric motors only. One launch ramp provides easy access to the lake. Fishing can be enjoyed from the shoreline

What a sweet campground! Tons of great hiking/bridal trails (18 mi) New bathrooms they are sanitized twice a day. Lake was small but Fishable, though I wouldn’t swim there. Sites were large and well maintained. Can’t wait to go back!

we camped here first weekend in November.
very clean ,very quiet. nice hiking trails.
Now my beef with Ohio sate parks. No drive up camping, you need a reservation. Camp host can not accept money.
If you have driven thru any Ohio state campgrounds a good percentage of the sites are not level enough for a RV. i would never pick a site in Ohio without seeing it first. Campground host allowed us to drive thru to select a site.
Park had three other campers out of 40 sites, . thankfully cell service was good enough to get thru to the reservation service, that charges you a reservation fee.
(lets go back to the money envelope in a paybox please)
