$10 to dump here if you aren’t camping. Easy access, and friendly help. The office wasn’t open but when we called they sent someone right over to meet us. Quite clean and water available for flushing.
I use to stay here only when I had to, especially when they raised the rates to 35.00 with no military or senior discount. No online reservation presence either.
However, those dusty roads are going away. Can see the improvements. They laid fiber the other day. see that as a big plus, especially when your next to fairgrounds, PNC arena, NC State football.
!00% better than RollingView or Holly Point (closed) just for septic alone. Only campground in the area with septic, 50 amp, and great water pressure.
So bottom line I can see the improvements.
This campground offers no amenities other than sites with full hookups, WiFi and a dump station. But it’s cheap, easy to get to, and conveniently located if you’re visiting the city. We opted to camp here while down for a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game, instead of paying outrageous prices for a hotel. The sites are easy to get into, the hookups worked great, and the price is right. You’re not going to get the quiet seclusion of the wilderness here, but that’s not what we came for. The sites on the ends of the row are right by lamp posts, so expect some light pollution. The nearby traffic and trains are audible. But again, it’s city camping so that’s to be expected. There’s plenty to do nearby. The sassafras children’s playground is the nicest public park we’ve ever been to. And the art museum right down the road is free.
