Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 02, 2021The kicker here is the ferry crossing so account for that in your budget, my wife and I, truck and trailer were $112 round trip.
Once arriving the campground is fully shaded and in a mildly hilly location. The sites are reasonably spaced and the AC power is good, there are a limited number of full hookups. potable water is near the shower houses.
The shower house is good, private showers and you could adjust the temp of the shower, very low flow. There is only 5 private shower rooms per shower house, so on weekend mornings there tended to be a couple of people waiting.
The campground was very quiet during the week, on the weekend however it was fairly loud.
The campsites were not very level so be prepared with some extra leveling blocks. There is only one dump station at the exit to the campground by the fish cleaning house. it is a fairly tight circular driveway.

We stayed in an electric only site with a slight downhill slope. Backing in can be tight depending on site location. We did manage to fit our F250 and 26’ trailer on the pad. Numerous pads could easily be extended by the park if they chose to make the improvements. Several large Class A motor homes and fifth wheel trailers did use the campground.
Bathhouse was cleaned everyday though water pressure was low compared to the toilets in the restroom. Only three of the five showers were open and all only had a single hook to hang stuff on. May flies were in season so restroom lighting was “yellow” at night.
Camp store is limited to ice and firewood only and requires a credit card. Campground is very clean with the maintenance staff friendly and helpful. Dump station is on the cliff face side and must be entered clockwise contrary to the painted arrows on the pavement.
The Perry Monument is still closed at the top though the museum is open. Our best restaurant choice at Put-In-Bay was the Boathouse. Ice cream is best purchased at the Chocolate Shop halfway back to the campground. A single scoop bowl was $4. Bike riding was easy and enjoyable around the island. Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center near the campground was worth seeing.
The ferry ride for two adults, truck and trailer was $170 Roundtrip so I recommend staying more than a few days. Plenty to do and see or just relax. Only issue was cleaning the awnings due to the may flies. Boat ramp and parking is beside the campground which lets new arrivals in at 3 pm. Very quiet park.
