Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on June 17, 2022Sites are generally not level, there are lots of trees to make backing into a site difficult, and the roads are very narrow. There is some noise from Route 9 during the day.
Like most NY State campgrounds in the ADKs there are no hookups here (but water and dump are available) and site access is very tight for bigger rigs. This is definitely not a "Big Rig Friendly" sort of place, even though there are a few sites designated for 30 and 40 foot RVs.
The compensation is shady, rustic "old school" campsites with lots of trees and often with gorgeous views of Schroon Lake. This campground is about 8 miles south of the town of Schroon Lake, which is worth a visit if you can unhitch (unhitching is not possible in all sites).

Not the worst campground we have seen, but not suitable for larger RV’s. Our site said it had a 40 foot driveway, it did not. I got my 31 foot in place with my truck blocking the road. We had to wait ten minutes on the road while another camper was doing the same thing. His site said 30 foot and he was having problems with a pop-up. Extreme tight fit driving in between trees. I saw no level sites. The lake is the attraction but no trails or much to do onsite unless you bring a boat or kayak. Nice staff and campers. Basic showers and toilets and water spigots are unthreaded, so I had to fill the tank one 6 gallon jug at a time. Just not a good fit for Mid to large rv’s. Site 1 is between the dumpster and shower house, not a private site.
