One of the best, if not the best, beach and park in the Des Moines metro. It's a little bit of a drive from Des Moines but worth it, with a huge beach, large and small shelters, a wooden playground, marina, trails, and more. If you're in central Iowa looking for a beach day, this is a good choice.
