Gentile's Campground

Partner and I and our dogs stayed two nights here in our small travel trailer, emailing and calling ahead for a reservation. We were a bit surprised to find it a religious campground, like maybe it’s a local place for family and church community retreats. Folks were friendly, sites were level, amenities were adequate, pets were welcome, there was no overt proselytizing, and it worked out fine for our needs. It was a mix of longterm RVers and travelers. There was quite a bit of property, some of it in disuse, including a putt putt course, a fountain and mini-carousel or somesuch. There were ample trees on the property and we were treated to stunning Autumn foliage on our dog walks around the grounds. There was a small simple building for use as a chapel and maybe other gatherings. There was a nominal cost to use the showers — maybe 50 cents, but bathrooms were clean, warm and had good TP.

Overall, the vibe was kind of old-school, like a curiosity treasure hunt from days gone by. We would likely try other places if we went back that way, but we would also be fine staying there again.
