Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 25, 2023This is a nice, quiet park close to Congaree and you can't beat the price. The challenge we had was trying to figure out how the sites were laid out. We were told that most sites were 30 amps and that we had actually pulled into a 30 amp site, but the power on the pole was 120. But we then shifted over to the other "side" of the site we were in and found the 30 amp outlet. If that's all one site, then I'd say they're pretty big, but if that was 2 sites, then I'd say they are right on top of each other.
Husband said bath house was warm and clean. Didn't use the shower. Road in is dirt but smooth as it looks like it had just been graded. We didn't have a view of the lake from the site (not sure any of the sites do). No picnic table on the site. Sites are grass/dirt and pretty level. Camp staff who came to help us find a spot and take our $10 was very friendly.
There were several other campers and it looks like there are nice horse stalls and nice horse trails. We were just passing through, and left rather early b/c it was forecasted to rain and we didn't want to have to worry about the dirt road if it rained too hard.
Overall, a good spot for an overnight before or after visiting Congaree and price is more than reasonable.

Had the whole place to myself! Came to fish at Santee Cooper and had a blast! Can’t beat the price for electric and water and bath house!

Only $10 for 30A or $15 for 50A in Oct 2021. The layout is a little weird and the bathrooms smell but there are warm showers. Helpful, friendly staff.
The website booking is impossible. Literally impossible on mobile, even with Desktop mode enabled. On a laptop, you have to click a certain order to view campsites, and then only 50A and horse spots show up.
Reserve in-person and hope for the best. The park # is 803-436-2248 and they can provide the caretaker's phone # for availability info.

We stayed here in a 32 foot motorhome. The campground was very quiet and not many campers this time of year. The campground is popular with horse owners as there are many trails to ride. We had water and 50 amp service here. Found the campground through Campendium and had to call for help to book a site. The website booking is not very user friendly and when you do get into the reservation system you can only book for one night. The kind lady that walked me through the reservation process said you just pay the park ranger for however many more nights you wanted. He was very nice also. A bad storm rolled through and we did lose power for about 30 hours, but that is not the campgrounds fault. We would definitely stay here again. We visited Congaree NP from here and wanted to tour a plantation, but it was closed due to Covid. It was also very easy to level our rig. Roads were a little narrow and sandy, but we had no issues.

We stayed here on a Tuesday night in late April. It is about 18 miles from 95 if you are headed north. There were 106 sites only three of which were occupied. It was quiet and peaceful and there were lots of birds. Had a nice coyote chorus at dusk. Bathrooms were older but kept clean and there was plenty of hot water in the showers

Nice little county park. I called the day before for a reservation. The lady I talked to said I wouldn’t need one. She was right. It was almost empty when I got there the following afternoon. Water and electric on the pedestal. No sewer hookup, but there is a dump station across from the restrooms. The ranger came by and collected my $10 after I was there for a while. Shaw Air Force Base isn’t far away and they spent some time bombing things on the practice range in the evening. Kinda cool.

October 17th, 2022 I called and the rates went up since the last review in August 2022. Doubled at $20 for 30A and $30 for 50A. First come first serve. Cash or check only! Told cell was spotty depending on where the site is.

Nice enough campground. Very quiet and peaceful.
We are 1 of 2 campers, so quiet and remote.
But do be warned that even though most of the pedestals have 30-amp outlets, many of the circuit breakers are 20-amp breakers.
Just a cautionary note.
We would still come back here. It seems like a nice campground, especially if you like the more remote feel.
Both AT&T and Verizon signals were weak. We set up our cell booster and that helped significantly.

We had 50AMP and Water. Park was quiet, only 3 other campers. Off the beaten path and great for a camping trip or stay where you don’t want to be in a busy campground. Can’t wait to come back! Starlink worked wonderfully

I stopped here for only one night in December, so it wasn't a disaster. To begin, it was already dark when I approached the area. Google Maps took me past the small, unlit sign for the turnoff to the park and campground. It's already a dirt road at this point and was pretty soft and sandy. At least I was in my truck (no trailer) and could turn around easily. The narrow road to the camping area was the same mushy surface. I didn't use any power and cannot comment on the quality of the electric service. The sites where I stayed had a dirt/grass surface and would likely require some leveling your RV.
When I visited the restroom, I found it unkempt. Most of the overhead lights were either not working and one was an annoying, flashing strobe. The trash can was overflowing. The worst is the quality of the water - it's saturated with iron. It stains the toilets orange and after taking a quick shower, both my skin and towel/washcloth reeked of iron. I could smell it strongly for the remainder of the day.
The Verizon signal was very weak, but finding your way back to the main highway isn't too complicated. The campground is also very secluded, which may suit many people. I also think it would be an acceptable place to stay in spring or fall, but due to the nearby water may be both muggy and buggy in summer.
It's unlikely that I would stay in this campground again.
