“transcending time & space”

Naval Aviation transcends both time and space, from wood and fabric biplanes to the frontiers of outerspace. The Museum captures Naval Aviation's heritage and brings its story of challenge, ingenuity and courage to you. The National Naval Aviation Museum is the world's largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. Share the excitement of Naval Aviation's rich history and see more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. These historic and one-of-a-kind aircraft are displayed both inside the Museum's nearly 300,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on its 37-acre grounds.

AMAZING!!!! The Blue Angels practice every Tues and Wednesday early around 11. Check the website to be sure. Get there at least 45 min early. The GPS will take you to the main entrance and the blue angels fly from the opposite entrance so if you do what I did - they will direct you to the other side and that is about a 10 min detour. then you gotta wait to get in, as the security is tight. Checking ID's. Drive into parking lot is about 5 min. And then the walk to where the blue angels are is far. so you want to give yourself time! It's an amazing presentation!. It's just awe inspiring. After the 45 min show you will go into the FREE museum. It's incredible. We were there for 5 hrs! I expected a small little museum with a couple of planes and it is huge with tons of planes that are official military planes. Restored and some took up to 15 years to restore. Tours are offered and are also free. It's a must do!! So forget to stop at the little light house on the road outside of the museum. We didn't go I to the lighthouse but got some great pictures.

I can’t believe how amazing this was. We spent all day absorbing the exhibits, had a wonderful lunch in the Cubi restaurant, surrounded by squadron memorabilia, then walked around the building to check out the blue angels! What an unexpected experience & a MUST DO!!!

We did not get to see this. It is on a naval base. If you are not military or have a military family member, you’re not getting in. It’s too bad, the reviews made it sound wonderful. My husband was really looking forward to seeing it.

Well worth the detour. You have to go to the opposite side of the base. A must see for anybody with any interest in the Navy or Aircraft!!
