“Parma's Historical Farm”
Stearns Homestead, Parma's 48-acre historic farm is owned by the City of Parma and operated by the Parma Area Historical Society. The farm is located at 6975 Ridge Road (State Route 3) just south of Parmatown Mall. Two houses, the Stearns House (1855) and the Gibbs House (1920) serve as museums with furnishings and displays appropriate to the era. A Yankee-style barn and outbuildings are on the site. The Country Store, meeting cabin, gardens, farm animals and their shelters offer a memorable visit to Parma's past. When purchased by the city with matching federal funds, Gibbs farm (as it was known then) was the last remaining working farm in Parma. The farm with buildings and houses was leased to the Parma Area Historical Society in 1981.
