Itasca State Park is Minnesota's oldest state park. It’s over 32,000 acres and has more than 100 lakes. You could easily spend an entire afternoon here. Also, pretty rad to be able to walk across the Mississippi River, like another commenter mentioned.
Pretty cool to be able to walk across the mighty Mississippi!
This was a great stop! My husband waded in the VERY cold river.
Awesome visitors center. Very informative and fun for the kiddos. If you're going to the headwaters this is a must see!
Easy hike to headwater from camp site. Site is beautifully maintained. Small parks at every site. Great stop!
