Fox Run Lodge & RV Campground

It’s all about managing expectations and at this price point I expected more. The owners were very pleasant and helpful but the campground has seen better days.
The website listed pull thrus, full hookups, laundry, wifi and an art gallery (really just a corner in the gift shop with a couple of items) which were all factors when i made the reservation. We were coming off a week of dry camping and needed to dump and do laundry before our next stop. When went to check in, there were no pull thru sites with hookups available - we could have hookups or full service - we chose a back in. The sites are very narrow -practically touching the trailers on either side.
There were 2 sets of washer/dryers - one in the office and one outside. There were signs on both not to change the settings and the ones outside actually had duct tape over the dials. Although the area was not particularly clean, the machines themselves seemed to be ok. I scaled back on what i was going to wash and everything came out fine.
The wi-fi has an additional cost of $3/day and does not reach everywhere in the park (which is small).
There was garbage on our site and it was not well kept up. The campground is close to the highway and there was a fair bit of road noise.

Stayed here 4/8 & 4/9/2024. Still winter and a bit wet with the snow from winter having just melted. Nice park with pretty level pull through site. Electric was 30 amp. No water as it was too cold and didn't need the sewer dump. There was road construction near by so during the day it was a bit noisy but at night it was very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The showers were clean and the laundry worked just fine. The attached restaurant with Asian food was just ok. Access to highway was great and Palmer was very close. I would stay here again in dryer months.

Pulled in and was right above the busy highway and construction. She had a pull through or a back in available but said they are tight so it is best if you can back it like a truck driver. Wanted $69 for electric. We did not get a good vibe so we didn’t end up staying and moved on down the road to Eklutna Lake.

Why this campground gets good reviews is beyond me. I can’t figure it. I was expecting at the least a decent campground. But this? Awful, cramped “campground.” A lot of full timers. Looks terrible. We paid for full hook-ups. Our daughter and her family paid the same price for just electric. And there site was right next to the entrance along the road. Dirt and dust clouds with every vehicle. They booked over 2 weeks in advance and got ripped off. We complained to the management about the price disparity and they told us that they charge the same for each site. What respectful business does that? Complete rip off. We asked to move them to a full hook up site, they found one but someone’s truck was blocking the entrance. They said they called the owner to move the truck, we waited until he showed up at 10:22pm! Management LIED! They spoke to the owners brother, the owner had no clue. He has been parked there for months and management never said a word. We felt bad for the owner of the truck and it made us look like the bad guys. Now they have all of us angry. What an awful start to the holiday.
