Anoatok (Eskimo for "the wind loved spot"), now Kane Manor, was built by the widow of American Civil War General Thomas L. Kane. The mansion's name alludes to the exploits of the late General's brother, Elisha Kane, the Arctic explorer. Anoatok is located in Kane, Pennsylvania, in McKean County. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 7, 1986.
