Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on August 10, 2021We camped during late March when the temps were cooler and there were no mosquitoes nor fire ants yet. Not bad for a USACE campground. The campsites are fairly close to the dam/locks and occasionally you’d see barge traffic. The train is on the opposite side of the river and you’ll hear them periodically day and night. The nearby town of Ozark has groceries, gas, a few shops, and a couple of local breweries. We were able to get 9 TV ant channels, but theres decent cell signal for streaming. Great fishing near your site.

This is a pleasant campground under the pines, alongside water. Clean, heated, individual bathroom/shower rooms. A brewery just down the road. Several wineries about 4 miles east of town. What's not to like, right? Well, the rendering plant across the river makes a constant low whine or hum noise. Several trains run along that opposite shore every night, too, which is louder but brief. The noise from the rendering plant is what gets to me. Also, be advised that most of the B section campsites have 2 sites combined onto one driveway. Other sections are not like that.
Oh, and a word of warning if anyone goes to the nearby Mount Bethel winery: even though I bought 3 bottles, they charged me $5 for the wine tasting! I'll never set foot in that place again.

Stayed here last October. Decided to try Corps parks just to see and what a treat. I don't think there is a bad site in this whole park. We were on the river with a great view of Ozark and the dam. Every day the trains go through across the river about 7or 8 times. Some people don't like the noise but we love it. Then we got to see tug boats pushing barges up the river to the locks. The hillside across from us was all bright with fall leaves. We enjoyed our stay very much and will try to stay here whenever we are in the area.

This is a very nice campground with a mix of sites some in a wooded areas & others in the open. Nearly half of the sites are river front with a beautiful view. Easily accommodates big rigs of any size.
On the other side of the river is a train tracks which might be an issue if your windows are open. Even outside when the train went by was not a bother for me and I am sensitive to this type of noise. There is a dam that splits the campsite and was the reason for the creation of this campground. Turning right as you enter takes you down stream below the dam and left brings you up stream above the dam.
AT&T is the winner in this location with 100 mbps downloads & 40 mbps upload. Verizon was second with 25 mbps up & down. T-Mobile was 3rd with 40mbps downloads & 2mbps upload. All very usable.

A big bang for your buck, especially if you have a Senior Pass. All sites have electricity and water, even though the website does not say the "C" loop (where we stayed) had a water hookup. 2 dump stations, clean bathrooms with showers. Lots of shaded spots, sites have picnic tables and fire rings, some have lantern poles. Clean park right on the Arkansas River. Most sites will accommodate larger rigs, the "C" loop looks like an older part of the park that is a short walk to the river shoreline but it still offers all the amenities of the other newer loops.
A train runs along the river and can be noisy but we didn't mind it. Busy fishing destination. Great Verizon phone signal.
A negative of staying in the C loop; River access for locals to fish is in the C loop and I guess for them it's acceptable to walk through the private campsites to get to the river. Some would cut through the middle of our site within 10 -15 feet of our front door even while we were sitting outside. My husband asked a few to use a larger walk space on the other side of our camper, and they seemed surprised that he asked but complied. It felt like someone was walking in the front door of your house, through your living room and then let them self out the back door :-) and then do the same thing when returning. We'd stay again but not in the C loop just for this reason.

Very busy campground with people on top of one another. No personal space at all. Put up our little screen room to have privacy while people walked between us and people next door cutting through to the lake. Guy next door spitting coughing up deep disgusting sounds. Not the cleanest place. Has anyone heard of recycling?
Lovely, grassy and quiet on other side. Bisected by dam as explained by other reviews. Very local people camp here. The town is sad. Litter is all throughout the trails in the woods on the C side. No one really seems to care.

Beautiful park. Very quiet except for the trains to come through twice a night at about midnight and six in the morning. Great deal for electric and water for $10 with our America the beautiful senior pass. Clean bathrooms, easy paved road access. Dump on site

We really enjoyed our stay! Clean great site with a covered picnic table. I am only giving a 4 on noise because the trains were so loud.

This was an easy access place to park with full service hook ups and kind people.
We were right on the water, with a view of some pretty hills. It was very relaxing to wake up right by the water, and we didn't feel nervous about leaving our bus to go hike the Ozarks during the day.
They have eight private showers and a nice area to walk around. We found firewood outside on the ground, had a fire, cooked dinner, and watched a movie. It was a pretty calm night with only minimal noise from passing trains.

Here We RV Again stayed here for 5 nights and it was very relaxing. A little noisy during the day from all of the Trains and the "Hydro Turbines" but at night it seems to be just "white noise" and helps with the sleep. We are definitely going to come back here next time we are in the area.
