Visitors to the birthplace are guided through the historic house as they learn about Clara Barton's role as a Civil War battlefield nurse and as founder of the American Red Cross. The museum displays items which belonged to Miss Barton, including her Civil War field desk and a quilt signed by Civil War veterans.
Beautiful spot, but there was no museum open, and the facility is used as a summer camp.
