I am a Hilton Honors Diamond Member. We travel all over the U.S. for work and vacations. This hotel is not up to the Hilton standard, and I won't be staying here again when in the Overland Park area. We stayed here for 5 nights. On the first night upon entering our 1st room (139), I encountered an ant in the bathroom and killed it. We had no food or drinks out at this time. I wasn't happy about it, but since they had given us an early check in I didn't make a complaint about it. We ordered take out for dinner, and while eating found 2 more ants and killed them. We didn't feel comfortable eating the rest of our dinner, so we threw over half of our dinner out. As we were getting ready to call the front desk to request a new room, or that they switch us to another Hilton hotel, a creepy crawler black/dark bug with several legs (maybe a centipede/millipede) crawled out of our bathroom door post. I have included a pic. My husband went to the front desk and pulled the manager aside as to not create a scene in the lobby and be discrete. The manager thanked him for that, and moved us to another room. We had to pack our own stuff, and move it way down the hall, which took nearly a half an hour, and we were in our pajamas. When we got to that room, there appeared to be blood spots/stains on the curtain. We did not feel good about the cleanliness of the hotel, but we were too tired to move. The 2nd room was also very far away from the pool, which we had requested. Speaking of the pool, one night there were people past open hours in the pool. We went late the following night hoping to be able to relax in the whirlpool and the doors were locked. We gave the manager all week to make it right, and he didn't tell us anything that he was going to do. My husband had to approach him about getting points added to our account for the inconvenience. It appeared that they were only going to give us 5,000 points, which isn't even enough for 1 night at a Hilton property. We had to call the Hilton Diamond line, spend nearly an hour of our time to ensure they made it right. The total points they gave us for all this inconvenience was 25,000 points which isn't even enough for one night at some of the hotels we stay at. We were very disappointed with our experience here, and don't trust this hotel for cleanliness or good customer service. I would recommend that you go to the Doubletree or another hotel in Overland Park.
