Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on September 17, 2023This is a very very busy and small rest area directly on the highway. It is mostly used by truckers. There is a bathroom, trash, and picnic tables. It’s loud, dirty, and a bit sketchy. However, directly behind is a beautiful open BLM area that is much nicer and any size rig can get in.

Good for one night, quick overnight stay, zero cost, quiet. One truck and few people stopped. Didn’t get pictures but ok

Beautiful spot, it's easy to get way off the highway and have the mountains and the sunset all to yourself. This was a great place to stay on the last night of our 3 Month Rd. trip. Love the serenity and love being away from the beehive and the busy RV parks! Yes it is a little dusty and the roads have ruts so if you are a city slicker/shoe clerk it may bother you but we love it.

This is a great spot for an overnight stay. Lots of fairly level areas to set up. We camped fairly close to the road, but didn't hear much noise. There were a couple of semis parked in the adjacent rest area. I wouldn't camp here if it were wet. I think that it would be too muddy. Gorgeous views.

Stayed here one night and glad we did. It was late May and there was still lots of snow on the mountains and the purple grass made it gorgeous! There were 2 RVs and 2 trucks, so not too busy. We use a white noise device which drowned out the highway noise. We considered going into the BLM area but it had just rained and our spot was right on the fence line. Verizon and AT&T both had service but it was fairly slow and I think both were using roaming which didn't work with my LTE router.

Right off the road. Large paved site. Plenty of room. Road noise but not too bad.

The only issue you’d run into here is if the ground is covered in snow or the ground was too soggy. If that were the case though you could likely just spend the night at the paved rest area right at the highway since there aren’t any signs saying otherwise.
Tons of cute ground squirrel things and coyotes in the hills. Took a hike up the the mountains. No cell coverage.

I was beeping it and it was the weekend. Every single state park site around was full and I didn’t really want to venture too far off the highway because I was moving to beat the heat. This was a perfectly lovely overnight spot. Shared it with a couple semis and travel trailers. Quiet other than some late arrivals. Sunset was fantastic. It free and easy so who can fault it? Not me!
