Buckeye Lake is a reservoir in Fairfield, Licking, and Perry Counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The lake was created in the 19th century as the "Licking Summit Reservoir", an important part of the Ohio and Erie Canal project. With the demise of the canal system in the early 20th century, usage of the lake shifted to recreation.
This is a fairly big lake for the 76 state of Ohio parks system. It is highly populated with houses, boaters, fishermen, walkers, and bicyclists. This specific address takes you to a little park (that is not marked how to get to) where many people fish. There is a flag pole, a paved bike path around the lake, and there is a small parking lot with a few handicap spots. It's a great place to people watch as the boaters and walkers go by, as well as see fishermen real in their catch of the day. There is also a dam down from the park if you turn one way, and the other way will take you to where the boaters put in. Across the lake there is a marina, and another place boats can put in. There is a paddle boat called the Buckeye Lake Queen that sits there as well. We saw lots of Canadian Geese on this side of the lake. There are a few homes that are shaped like lighthouses around the lake.
