White River Campground

Adjacent to the Currant Mtn. Wilderness Area to the west, Red Mountain stands out amongst the Limestone and Pinyon/Juniper dominated landscape with its beautiful volcanic red-orange color. This is a remote area that possesses unique and outstanding scenic qualities, opportunities for solitude and a remoteness only found in Nevada. Take Highway 6, 30 miles Southwest from Ely, Nevada. Turn Right at the White River Campground sign. Follow this road 10 miles to the dispersed campground. There are no formal trailheads established to date, but roads in the area offer limited access.
