Southfork State Recreation Area includes 1,650 acres and is surrounded by over 2000 acres of meadow lands and rolling hills. The Recreation Area is popular for camping, fishing, boating, hunting, wildlife viewing and other summer and winter sports. It is most famous for its trout and bass fishing on Southfork State Reservoir with the Humboldt River being the main tributary. The campground is located next to the reservoir.
