The Muscatatuck Park is a natural gem, with an interesting and significant history. Our visitor center will be glad to welcome you and supply the information that you may need. The surrounding county of Jennings is one if Indiana's most natural and scenic counties. With two National Wildlife Refuges, two State Fish and Wildlife Areas, a State Forest and a State Nature Preserve, the wildlife and recreational opportunities abound.Likewise the county and its small towns have a rich and unique history. Vernon is designated as a Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. Come breathe the fresh air as you stroll back in time through"Indiana's best example of a mid-19th century town". Antique shops, seasonal festivals, herb farms and some quaint dining will round out your visit. In 2011 the park celebrated its 90th "birthday". Reflecting back upon this odd bit of Indiana history, area residence have termed the park "the best little park in Indiana". Most visitors will surely agree that it is a wonderful place.
