Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 14, 2021Adventure Bound has two campgrounds in Truro MA, this review is for the Horton’s at Adventure Bound Resorts. This campground takes big rigs and tents, there are quite a few wooded, private sites with hook-ups and without. We had a full hook-up site, but the electrical and water posts were separate from each other and confusing as to which site they belonged to, the sewer drain was a bit higher than the trailer site, so it made holding tank dumping a little challenging. Although the sites are nice for the most part the condition of the campground is somewhat ragged, especially the facilities which show its age and are not kept-up very well. They call themselves a “resort” but don’t have any amenities that would qualify it as a resort, it’s just a campground. The best that it has going for it is that is in excellent location; very quiet, 5 min drive or 20 min walk to one of the most beautiful National Seashore beach, 10 min drive to Provincetown, and next to the iconic Cape Cod Light which was the subject of Edward Hopper paintings. There is no WiFi and for all practical purposes the cell signal is nonexistent. If you need a “base camp” from which to explore Outer Cape this campground will be OK.

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay during the shoulder season, this is a great choice. Very close to all the activities that the upper part of Cape Cod has to offer. Nice tent sites. And the RV sites that aren't reserved for seasonal campers have just enough space between them to give you some privacy.
The reason that I gave a 4 star rating is because the website is a bit misleading discussing the amenities it promotes. There is no wifi, the cable didn't work and cell phone coverage is challenging. There is no staff regularly on-site until July. And the upper part of the campground is not currently available for booking as the owners are planning a major renovation of the area. A camper would be disappointed if these things matter to them.

Pros: 10 min drive to Provincetown. Pet friendly policy which is extremely appreciated. Friendly and helpful staff in the office. Office store was stocked with essentials e.g. firewood, ice. I loved the ease of the reservation via Campspot and contactless check-in: super efficient and fast, no time wasted at all, grabbed my envelope and done.
Cons: Sites are mostly dirt so when it rains (which it did), it’s muddy. The utility pedestals are not marked and spread apart from each other so make sure you have long hoses and electric cords. The trees need caring for because a few look like they’re going to fall or break during the next Nor’easter, storm or hurricane that hits the area. The ground is soft so re-leveling is needed once the blocks sink in. There are tons of mosquitoes but that’s the Cape so bring insect repellent. The bathrooms need updating and more regular attention to keep them clean. Sad that the dog park is not well maintained, we didn’t use it because it looked neglected e.g. weeds, litter, shabby.
The campground needs some major love e.g. landscaping to examine and take care of the trees at the sites, re-sod the grass in the sites and in all of the balding spots everywhere; put gravel in the sites; trim the overgrowth on the path to the lighthouse and clear it to make it more of a proper path; update the bathrooms; spray to help reduce mosquitoes; invest in and maintain the dog park; pick up litter.
The last thing is I wish there was a laundry.
