Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 12, 2023We stayed quite a few years ago in a tent, actually we tent camped here once and then camped in our pop up once, in 2 different sites. The park and campgrounds are maintained well and the park is clean and beautiful. They also offer cabins if you're interested, but I don't know pricing. We took our pop up boat with an electric motor out on the lake and fished, it was a great experience. Can't wait to go back with our travel trailer! Our family comes to this state park a lot, just for day trips, we love to walk the paths and enjoy the outdoors.

Campsite is not suitable for large rigs. I drove through the park in order to dump by class B and check out the campsites. Roads through the campsites are very narrow even for a class B. If you’re planning for tent camping the park is fine.

Check in at the park office in the day use area first
Sites seem to vary in size and quality and privacy, but there is good vegetation all round
the road in the loops is tight and surrounded by trees. Would be rough with any size RV.
We lucked out as site 49 is very roomy and sheltered, except for direct access to the road on one gap in the brush and access to neighboring sites. Level, sandy, mossy.
good park, lots of nice trails accessible directly from camp. playgrounds, interpretive ranger led events on weekends. also is a group fire pit and benches by the water that doesn't seem to be used much.
nice fire pits with moveable grate. lamp hook was nice too though everyone seems to use if for trash
firewood for sale in park office, or by the side of the road or walmart nearby,,
cons: poor cell service, and i expect it's pretty buggy in the spring/summer. mosquitos were merely annoying in the fall
drinking water was off, unannounced, luckily we brought our own
i could see the bathrooms getting quite crowded in peak season. they're standard campground fare.

This campground is not for big rigs. We have a 24’ TT and I would not want to take larger than 30’ into park, even just to use dump station. Road are narrow with trees next to winding roads at campsites. Campsite was fairly level and has potable water readily available. Also has water available at dump station to flush tanks.
