“offering visitors an opportunity to sample a wide range of outdoor experiences”

Situated at the confluence of the Niobrara and Missouri rivers on Nebraska's northeastern border, Niobrara  State Park offers visitors an opportunity to sample a wide range of outdoor experiences. Cabins, camping from RVs to tents, picnicking, swimming pool (open mid June - mid August), boat ramps, horseback trail rides, hiking, fishing, history or communing with Mother Nature are all availble at this exceptional state park. A large population of white-tailed deer call the park home, and wild turkeys roam freely through the cabin and tent camping areas. Beaver, muskrat and mink prowl the river banks, and the varied bird life ranges from the majestic eagle to the tiny chickadee. The song of the whippoorwill blends with the call of the coyote in a nighttime serenade. For the wildlife enthusiast, Niobrara offers ample photo opportunities or just the chance to observe the many species native to the area. Nature's bounty is readily visible during a drive along the park's seven miles of roads or a stroll along the 14 miles of hiking trails.

Niobrara State Park is a very quaint and peaceful campground suitable for singles to large families. Folks are respectful and quiet down at quiet hours and creates a very quiet stay. Close to a quiet highway that you cannot even hear. Great access to trails, lookouts, playground and shower houses. Site are 20 & 50 Amp services with also some tent non-powered sites. Would highly recommend a stay here.

I have visited this park many times but have never camped here before. The sites are spacious with lots of shade which helped during the really hot weather. It was probably 2/3rds full but was very quiet. The bathhouse was in good shape. The view from the top of the park behind the lodge is spectacular. We can’t wait to camp here again in the fall.

Our stay was very nice. This is a beautiful state park with plenty of space in the campground. There are reservable sites and walk in sites. We reserved a site but when we arrived they were doing utility construction right across from us, so the host were helpful in moving us to a walk in site. Electric only at site, fresh water at the dump station. Sites are paved and level. There is a pay bath house which we did not use and laundry facilities. In the park there are numerous picnic shelters, hiking trails and a pool! Other than some road and construction noise it was perfect. Our cost includes the $12 / day use fee.

Facilities were very clean. It's mid October so we were one of only a handful of campers. Very peaceful. Pads are all paved and pretty level, minor adjustments would be needed in some but none where we were. All the spots are very shady and fairly good sized. They were starting to winterize so not all facilities were open but still had shower and rest room availability as well as black flush. Was told all water shuts down on the 15th. Will be returning next season. Great experience.

We stayed 2 nights. Most sites are first come first serve. Had a few reserved sites. We found 4 more sites away from the main campground. 2 reserve and 2 fcfs, but no shade at those sites. They have washer and dryer, shower and free WiFi at laundry site. Pay showers start at 50 cents. All sites are paved. All back in sites. Long fifth wheeled campers fit in handicapped sites no problem. Anything longer than 24 ft camper will have to unhook at back in sites. Sites are 30/50 amp hook up. Have good LTE coverage. T-mobile and sprint. Good spacing between sites. Very well done campground. Very clean bathrooms and shower. Only 2 shower stalls, other bathroom shower facility was closed.

Arrived late on Saturday evening Labor Day weekend. Campground pretty much full. Tent sites are up on the hill overlooking the river. Gorgeous views. Sites well spaced.

This stop was completely unplanned. We crested the valley and saw the Niobrara River below and were amazed at the beauty and fall colors. As luck would have it, we missed our turn and were turning around in the state park and decided to explore further as there were lots of available sites mid October.

The park has lots of history and some hiking trails and tent sites as well as beautiful views of the river especially from the cabins. It looks like trail rides with horses are offered in the summer.

The showers and bathrooms were closed by this time, but the dump station was still open and the water was on.

The sites are well spaced for a campground. Site 62 was long enough for us to stay hooked up to our 25 foot trailer AND park our Jeep in front. The handicapped sites looked very nice with a concrete slab. 62 is not handicapped, fyi.

There was an impressive playground in the middle of the campground that was a real hit with some of the campers.

There is some highway noise, but nothing that earplugs can’t overcome. Also, the town is quite small so be sure to bring all your supplies with you. The campground office sells ice and firewood.

Verizon was wicked fast.
