We stayed at this park during Thanksgiving. While the site was on the water and we had a lovely view, we didn't find this park charming or endearing in any way that would lead us to return. It was packed for Thanksgiving - every site was full. That may have influenced our assessment and how unimpressed we were. It wasn't a bad place, but it was just ok.

Lake Greenwood State Park (SC) - This is our second time staying here. They have some sites right on the lake where you can park your boat. Most sites are water/electric only, but they do have quite a few full hook-up sites. This site is one of those and we were pretty excited about reserving this one. Decent space between campsites. Site 69 backs up to a bathhouse too. We had enough space on our site to park the car with our bass boat. Overall, we really like this S.C. State Park and would recommend it especially if you like to fish.

Friendly staff, beautiful sites. We have a 38’ class A and had no trouble backing into the site. No sewer on this site, easy access to the dump station.

This was a pull thru site that was fairly level and not to close to other sites. Most are fairly close. The bath rooms were and fairly nice.

This is a nice back in site right on the lake. This site is not to close to your neighbors. the site was almost level. The bath house is also very close and is clean. this site is in the smaller loop. The other loop is a lot larger and seems to have the site much closer together.

We stayed here in December of 2022 for 5 nights. We originally had 3 nights reserved, but it got down to 10 degrees and there was ice on the roads, so we added 2 nights instead of driving on ice.
The good: nice lakeside sites, reservations avail, nice rangers & staff, small store, nice little museum, trails (but with all of the rain, one was pretty boggy), quiet.
The bad: some of the sites are really sloped - some of the ones in the interior of the loop - really sloped. And no tire stops at the end of the sites. Our site was sloped enough that we just kept our trailer attached to the truck, but then we were pretty bow up.

To be fair, we came here after being at Petersburgs Campground in Appling, GA, which is peaceful with beautiful sites. It is a completely different story here. The sites are ridiculously narrow to the point where you can only put your stairs down. The pad is raised so there is an immediate (unsafe) step down to the dirt/gravel living area. The lip on the backside is 12 to 18 inches high so be careful backing in. Some sites are listed as 40 feet long but there are trees on both sides of the narrow pads so you cannot get your slides and/or awnings out. The lake is pretty but lined with houses so there is nothing charming or quaint here. Cell service is very good. TV antenna reception is very good. We got all the major channels except NBC.

We arrived a hour earlier than check in and we were able to go to our site. We stayed 2 nights in campsite 115 right on the lake in a level spot.
Showers & bathrooms were clean and we walked on the paths and visited the small museum that explained when the park was established by the Civilian Corps.
We would recommend and return.
