Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 16, 2019They have fire rings here and both RV and tent sites. Nicely shaded mostly level spots. Bathrooms were flush toilets and were clean. Some road noise but peaceful otherwise. Verizon seemed to be working with 2 bars at times. AT & T had 2 bars as well. T-Mobile non existent. Bring bug spray as they are brutal this time of the year.

This campground was pretty much empty during the week but the weekend brought the local teenage crowd and the loud music until after quiet time.
A much better option is Russell Pond Campground just 17 miles north of here.

We stopped here for an overnight stay between Quebec an Cape Cod. We had our choice of sites an picked 20, away from the road. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude of this pine forest. Some of the pines were enormous. The restrooms are dated but clean. We appreciated the distance between campsites. 👍

This (mostly) unserviced campground is under a dense canopy of pine trees located right on highway 49. Great base location for exploring the White Mountains. Occasional road noise might make some people cranky, but we enjoyed the stay.

Located just inside White Mountain National Forest, this makes for an easy entry into the area. Just a couple miles off I-93, easy to find and get to. Know going in that you will not have electricity, water, access to a dump station or TV reception, but we had good luck with our mobile wifi throughout our stay. Though the park does have access to water, the spigots do not allow for hooking up to an RV, so fill your fresh water tank before arriving. The bathrooms seemed well-maintained and accessible from all sites. The park has coin-operated showers available--$2.50 for a 5-minute shower. Campton has a gas station, a few bar-and-grills, and a Dollar General--about all we needed for a short stay!

This is a well located campground accessible to Plymouth NH and surrounding areas. The sites are very spacious and well separated. I down graded the cleanliness, not because of the sites, but because the restrooms were not as well maintained as they should be. They are in need so some paint and a thorough cleaning. It would be nice if they would provide a trash can either inside or outside. Though I didn't use the showers, the same can be said of them.
In the Recreation.gov description it notes water faucets, but they are the unthreaded, so fill your water tank ahead of time if you have a trailer or motorhome. The area is in a grove of very shady trees, so there is very little sun to recharge batteries with a solar panel. While we were there the campground was practically empty, so I didn't feel so bad running a generator, but I imagine when it is full it could get pretty noisy. Speaking of noise, the campground is quite close to a highway so there is a fair amount of traffic noise as well.
Finally, the roads inside the campground are quite narrow and there is not a lot of space for backing trailers into many of the sites. Most are relatively easy to get into if you are adept at backing trailers, but some are really lacking any maneuvering space, thus somewhat reduces access stars. The road to get there was easy and would merit a full 5 stars.
The Verizon phone service toggled between 1 and 2 bars of LTE, not 4 G. The signal was fine for regular phone calls, but everything else was a little iffy at times.

Spacious level sites located some distance from neighbors. Road noise from the adjoining highway is continuous during the day but drops off at night. The dated toilet in this section of the campground does not have a shower, but there is a shower in the other section. The campground was full when we were there and we were the only RV.
