“known as "The Switzerland of America'”
The Ammonoosuc Campground is a family park where cleanliness, privacy and friendly consideration of others are defining characteristics. Our Campground is open for summer and winter seasons, with seasonal sites available. We are located in an area that is known as "The Switzerland of America" (Elevation 1400 ft.). Our campground is surrounded by the foothills of Mt. Hale, the Twin Mountains and the Sugar Loafs. We are within view of majestic Mt. Washington and the Presidential Range. Daily, weekly, seasonal rates are available upon request. Our campground is approved and listed with the New Hampshire Campground Owners Association, Woodall's Trailer Life, AAA.. However, our best recommendation comes from over 30 years of satisfied customers.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 12, 2023Great spot for a short stay or for a seasonal stay. Close to Flume Gorge, Kancamagus Highway, Diana's Bath, Arethusa Falls, and the Cog Railroad to the top of Mt. Washington. The campsites are fairly close but have greenery or wooden fences between sites for more privacy. The staff are friendly and the bathrooms and laundry room are clean. Our site was level. Nice pool and good Wifi.

We are very impressed! Each lot is separated from the others by trees. Each lot is all dirt with a fire ring and picnic table. This is a quiet campground because most of the spaces are taken by people who park their RV's here for visits like a cabin or camp. While we were here there were only a few people here. The best part is where it is located near Mt Washington, the White National Forest, and the Ammonoosac River valley. We camped at The Ammonoosuc Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 3 nights in September, 2022. We initially were going to stay 2 nights (on our way to a wedding in Maine), but rain was forecasted so added a night. SUPER nice owner(s) and hosts. Very pleasant checking in. The sites are not at an angle to the road, so we had to back in, then disconnect our truck to fit (no big deal, but if it was only for 1 night...). Foliage and little fences between sites. Mainly seasonal RVs here - lots of yard art & decor, lights and nice decks. Not many people around when we were here, so very quiet.
Very nice laundry facilities (was able to do 4 loads pretty much at the same time) and decent walking around the loops with the dog.
Site quality I gave 4 stars due to non-angle parking and kind of gravely / muddy from prior seasonal who had just left.

Enjoyed a 5 night stay at this campground. The staff and owners were really great. The plots are a good size and easily fit our 18 foot trailer. We stayed on site 8. It seems that all of the non seasonal sites are packed down dirt. This site was level in the area where we parked our trailer. There were a bunch of roots in the ground near the fire ring. Not really a trip hazard, but making that side a little uneven. It’s the outdoors though… To be expected! My only complaint is that the site became swamped during the heavy downpours we had during our stay. Like a river of water flowing through our site. However, the rain was heavy, and once it stopped, the water cleared quickly. Not worth taking a star away, but something to keep in mind if you stay on this site and it looks like it is going to rain.
What I love most about this campground is that it is a basic, beautifully low key, campground. That being said, the campground has a nice pool… Too bad it was a bit chilly to enjoy it though. However, it was beautiful and clean. The kids enjoyed the playground, and I enjoyed the retro feel of the equipment. It looks like they are building a new office building. Looking forward to seeing the end result on our next trip. They also had a nice bathhouse that offered laundry, showers, and bathrooms. Very clean and well maintained. Another bonus for folks with ATT cell phone service is that we had a strong signal. Not all that common in the area!
The area is also nice. Close to a lot of the area attractions in the Greater Conway area, but far enough away where you can get away from the crowds. Sugarloaf Mountain is nice a close with a beautiful hike to the summit. There are gas stations that are nice and close, along with a great place called Ya-Yas, which is a convenience store that also has a deli that offers pizza, breakfast sandwiches, and other to go items. We got French toast, and breakfast sandwiches there on our last morning and they were delicious.
I am looking forward to returning to this campsite next time we are in the area! Highly recommend.

Very clean facilities, far drives to surrounding trails, very nice staff, excellent cell service
Love this place!! As a couple in our late twenties, we've done a lot of camping but this place will always stick out to me. These people are so nice, and they even took us last minute at like 8pm on a Saturday night when we were sure there would be no room. We snagged a corner site and the whole thing was just a lot of fun. The place is family oriented, and yet people are still quite active and fun till about "quiet time" around 10 or 11pm. The sites also have lean-Tos and I believe some, if not all, are sectioned off by tall fences so everyone has privacy!! Lastly, the bathrooms were well kept and were hardly ever crowded. Would definitely revisit this place, we felt very comfortable here and got a relaxed vibe the whole time.
