“cozy overnight lodging since 1886”

Upton House was built in 1886 but provides the accommodations of the 21st century. It's perfect for a romantic getaway or a cozy overnight in the mountains with the family. Work on the circa 1886 Douglass farm began in 2007. Innkeepers Charlotte Dominique and Bob Pepler transformed the three-story former farmhouse into a charming and elegant inn. The couple are looking forward to hosting guests, such as snowmobilers, a sport that brought them to the Upton area for 20 years from their home in Rhode Island. A few years ago, Pepler, a retired United Parcel Service employee, made the move here while Dominique came primarily during summers and vacations. This year she retired from 25 years of teaching at Mount St. Charles Academy in Woonsocket, RI, closing 38 years of teaching English and reportedly making her the 64th year-round resident of Upton.
