Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 21, 2020We've camped here twice in the fall, each time the campground was pretty empty. There are 28 sites in two loops, no electricity or anything else, really. It was built in the 1960s and definitely has that vintage vibe to it. But if you want a place to get away and don't want to pay a lot, this is the place for you. The entire campground is very forested with lots of shade, dark skies at night. Sites are large and there is decent space between them, but very few are suited for RVs, you might back a small trailer in some but not many of those were level. I'd say 5 or 6 of them had a pull through driveway that was a distanced from the main campsite by about 40 feet - so you won't roll out of your door and sit at the picnic table. This was typical of a lot of sites, be prepared to lug gear pretty far; was definitely built in a time when people tent camped most of the time. The bath houses are older and were closed due to Covid in our most recent stay. There were portable toilets available. The dump station was also closed, I've read elsewhere that this is permanent but I have not seen anything official on that.
I would not expect cell service on any carrier.
A few nearby hikes, recommend the Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory about 15 miles away.
