This Redhook joint is a true neighborhood bar. Sunny Balzano and Tone Johansen are the current owners, but it was Sunny's great-great grandfather, but it was Sunny's great-grandfather who opened the location in 1890. Today the bar thrives on, despite taking a knock from Superstorm Sandy, and regularly hosts musicians and performers. Come for the whiskey apple cider and live bluegrass, stay for diverse crowd of artists and locals. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a friendlier bar in the city.
