“artisanal coffee with friendly service”
Sister and brother team jonathan and gabrielle rubinstein opened joe in 2003 on historic waverly place, serving up artisanal coffee with friendly service. joe quickly became a neighborhood and nyc staple, opening several more shops across the city and in philadelphia. with an emphasis on quality, education for baristas and the public, and finally through roasting and wholesaling its coffee, joe continues to be a respected and beloved fixture in the coffee community. Our second spot to open in 2005, this bright and airy spot straddles the line between east and west village, is around the corner from union square and caters to all walks of life, with a good many university students from nyu and the new school.
