“Connecting people to wild nature”
The Central Park Zoo is a small 5 acre zoo located in Central Park in New York City. It is part of an integrated system of four zoos and the New York Aquarium managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The zoo began in the 1860s as a menagerie, making it the first official zoo to open in New York. The Central Park Zoo includes the Tisch Children's Zoo.
It is a small zoo but worth a visit. The seals are absolutely amazing! They are so animated and love to play. I swear some of them were posing for pictures. The penguins are pretty cool as well. You can watch them swim underwater through the glass.
Very small zoo and when we went, many exhibits were being renovated. My son's favorite part was the sea lion feeding. You can watch from the park walkway, so schedule your time right and you can see the best part for free. The children's zoo was pretty cool for the kids, and you get admission to both zoos with your ticket.
Small zoo, but worth a visit.
I t was a bit disappointing, the kids liked it but it's small.
