Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on July 31, 2021It’s a convenient small campground, it’s self check in at the small white shed where you get the envelope and drop box. We had Verizon signal but it would drop off, We did receive local tv antenna stations.
The sites are back to back, 50 amp and water hookups.
There is a lot of road noise from fedex trucks that drop and pick up box cars. We were here during Sturgis so the Smallest Biker Bar was busy and noisy, that sits across the street next to a gas station that has a laundromat and pizza place.
Overall a good stop maybe when it isn’t so busy.

This is a great compromise for those nights when you would happily just crash in a WalMart parking lot, but you really need power for some reason. For $25 we also got water and a place to dump water out. Close to 90 but far enough away that you don’t hear constant road noise.

Plans change sometimes when camping and ours changed a bit. I was having a hard time finding a Rv campground and I came across Boondockers Campground. I am more of a reservation type just because I don’t want to arrive and there is not availability. I called and the nice man was helpful and said he would put a cone out for me to save me a spot. I truly appreciate it and we got here and it was very easy to back in and hookup. Great signal we have 4 bars with Verizon. Sites are level and they are a full lookup site. In the 4 days we have been here we have seen people come and go with no problem even though it is summer and I’m sure it’s their busy season. Easy access to the freeway and was very quiet as well. We will be back if we are in the area. Oh and we are close to everything Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Custer state park and the city if you need supplies.

Everything went smoothly and that’s the way we like it. Wendy came by to collect. You can use credit card or deposit your money in a drop box. No frills just a level gravel spot with full hook ups. Very simple.

Like the previous reviewer stated, no frills. We needed 1 night stay. This was right off 90. The place is clean, quiet, and full hookups (water, electric, sewage). The owners, however, are amazing folks! We rolled in late and they had been waiting for us to ensure we could hook up without a problem. We had an issue with our towed vehicle and needed to go to Rapid City to repair. Apparently, as we drove off transmission fluid was leaking and leaving a trail! The owner called me to make sure we weren't stranded on the interstate! We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 2 nights out of the 4 we had planned on because there was an unexpected hail storm and some people experienced major damage. Ours was minor, so we left as there was another one expected to come the following evening. If the hail storm hadn't happened, we would have stayed our entire length as even though it is a campground with no frills, it is clean, it is nestled in between beautiful green landscape for miles around you and is very quiet at night even though it is very close to a major hwy. I loved opening my door to see nothing, but open land across from the street of this campground.
The sites are gravel, almost leveled with green space between each spot.
The owner is a very kind and energetic lady, who gave us money back for the two nights that we decided to not stay and run without us even asking for it. It was mother nature and she had no control over it, so we didn't even think to ask. But it seemed like her thought process was...it was mother nature, we had no control over it and hence have to leave early. How thoughtful of her I must say!

We stayed at Boondocks as we passed through the area just for overnight. It is located close to I90 so we had easy on/off access. Definitely no frills. No bathhouse, no picnic table or fire ring, but full hook up and we were self contained with our trailer. I would recommend stopping here if they have availability because they price was very reasonable ($30 for back in site). The only downside was a little road noise, but we had a fan on and didn’t really notice it.

Full hookup RV park. One of the owners (for her name 😬) greeted us and gave a lot of info on this little town. Worked with us when we had a delay and was super responsive. No showers or bathrooms, and doesn’t seem like any campgrounds in these parts have fire pits. $30 a night. We enjoyed our stay here.
