Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on September 02, 2023It’s early in the season, so the campground is fairly empty, which was really nice. When I made the reservation, I was told that they would still be in the early phases of opening up the campground, the store wouldn’t be open much if at all, pools were closed, etc., so I knew what to expect when we arrived. Self check-in was simple, site was easy enough to find. Great view of the lake, peaceful and scenic. I’m not sure what it’s like here during peak season, but it was perfect for our needs these couple of days.

Stayed for one quick night on our way west. Called around 4pm and were given site number and instructions to pay at office (arrived around 7pm after office was closed). Didn’t use any facilities yet the newly refreshed gravel lots were nicely level. Sites are tight yet it didn’t matter for one night. Easy access from highway.

We were running late so we called a few hours ahead of when we would arrive to ask when we could check in. They told us they were open until 6pm. We checked the website and saw there is a grocery store, museum and rv store. We get to the office, walk in and I check in. The staff was very friendly. I asked where the grocery store is and I was told it is in there where the office is. So the website is a little misleading. The museum, grocery store and RV store are all together in the office building. There is a very small selection of each. Good news is I asked where a grocery store is and was told there is one down the street.
Like I said this is a small 'mom and pop' type campground. The bathrooms are on the older side and the showers are coin operated (25cents for ten minutes) 25cents to get the hot water running, and 25cents for time to shower... That was disappointing. The bathrooms are clean despite being on the older side.
The campground is clean and well maintained. The sites are kind of close together. Our first night we lost water in the morning along with the campers in the sites around us. It came back on in about an hour.
Overall we are happy with this place and would come again. Just a bit mislead by the website.

We stopped around dinner time on a Monday. The office was closed but there were clear instructions for self check in including which spots were open and how much money to put in the box. Be sure to have cash. Our pull through spot was level and we’ll tended. We are in a motorhome so we didn’t use or even see the facilities. The campground was not far from the exit. There were quite a few other campers but it was very quiet all night. So quiet that I wondered if anyone else was there, but after 9 am I saw quite a few other people.

We have stayed here a couple of times since our son is at the University of Pittsburgh. About as close as you can camp to Pittsburgh in a big rig at about 45 minutes drive in good traffic. Mostly easy access for rigs of any size, although to enter the campground, you have to descend a very steep driveway. Most non-seasonals are placed in the large pull through field of spots you can see on the right as you enter down the hill. Easy to get in and out. All full hook-ups worked well. You are fairly packed in tight with neighbors. The bath house was OK at best, stalls had shower curtains as 'doors' with very little clearance once inside the stall! Friendly staff, nice pool (cold!). Crazy fast T-Mobile Internet at this location, fastest I have ever seen!

We stopped here for one night layover from outer banks to Michigan. Highly recommend this stop, it is easy access from the turnpike, inexpensive, safe, and accommodating for any type unit. Sites were pull through full hookup and no leveling needed. And though we did not use amenities, it is a resort camp with ponds and a pool, store, etc.

After traveling in small Motorhome for 90 days, this one was the second lowest on our list for quality. Office closed at 2 on Sunday. Arrived about 3:30. No way to get dinner supplies and portable propane canister. Site appeared to be in older section near pool. One bathhouse, very dated. Toilet stalls had shower curtain for door. Hole in door large enough for all sorts of critters. Showers were very old and definitely need shower shoes and coins. FHU Site was fairly level with cable. Read a review about lots of iron in water so skipped hooking up water. Many of road ways had bad washout which tossed us around a bit. Wood was being split with noisy machine for over 3 hrs.

Perfect overnight stay. Long pull through sites that easily accommodated our 45’ coach with 20’ trailer. Very clean.
