The Lighthouse Point Carousel is located in the East Shore section of New Haven, Connecticut. The carousel building was built in 1916, replacing an earlier one. The building and its carousel were together listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 1983. The carousel includes 70 figures and two chariots. The carousel appears to be a hybrid put together of figures from different sources, including figures by Charles Carvel of Brooklyn and by Charles Looff. A figure of George Washington can be seen directing the carousel with a baton. The roof above the carousel is topped by a monitor with clerestory windows. The carousel is located just 200 feet away from another NRHP-listed landmark, the Five Mile Point Lighthouse.
