“a park in perfect harmony”
Harmonie State Park is located "on the banks of the Wabash" 25 miles northwest of Evansville. A beautiful swimming pool, shady picnic areas, ravines and pristine landscape await you here. This is a trail lover's paradise! Trails for walking, biking and nature hikes will lure you for a visit.Nearby Historic New Harmony honors two unique communities from the early 1800s. The Rappites located here in 1814. They were fleeing from religious persecution and awaiting the impending millennium. In 1824, the Owenites brought many great scientists and philosophers into the area when they purchased the Rappites holdings.
This park has a lot to offer with gorgeous hiking trails and recently expanded mountain bike trails. The cabins and campground make for a wonderful retreat!
Beautiful park and 1.5 mile hike (several trails to choose from), great place to stretch our legs. The hike we took came out in the middle of the campgrounds and had a good 1.5 mile walk through the campgrounds to get back to vehicle. Would recommend retracing your steps on the trail, but the campground mad for some good people watching and some of the camping sets ups were a sight to see!
