Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 22, 2018We came here after dry camping for a few weeks. When you get off I-40 you head down a very rough US 95 to the park. Supposedly it is being repaired.... Anyway we had made reservations online and mentioned Passport America on the reservation. They honored it and we stayed for ~$17.50/night plus tax, total was $38.50 for 2 nights. It was easy to back our 35 foot 5th wheel into the space. Water, electric (50 or 35), and sewer were all available. Verizon tower close by and we got 5 bars out of 5 but the tower would get overloaded in the morning and evenings, otherwise great speed. There is maybe 12 feet between rigs so not too bad.
There are 2 sections to the park. The upper section appears to be for short timers. The lower section appears to be for long term rentals. There is a boat ramp, dock, 2 story observation deck, and even a small wading area in the Colorado River. The people we met were friendly. Apparently there is an old neon sign from the route 66 days that they are trying to refurbish and rebuild. Donations are being accepted for that project.
This is in Needles, CA. which is not doing that great these days, I believe. There is no grocery store in Needles. Closest is Walmart or Safeway in Fort Mojave, AZ. 15 miles away on the other side of the Colorado. The grocery store in Needles closed several years ago because it could not compete with Arizona prices.
We enjoyed our stay, it was quiet and uneventful. Not much to do though unless you have a boat. We would stay again.

We had a pleasant overnight stay on 5/17/18. The upper sites are somewhat close, about 10’ between rigs, lower level riverfront sites have a bit more space. There are some longer term residents - welcoming and friendly. Nice privacy in bathroom/shower and they were clean. Laundry area nice, with utility sink as well. River access for wading and several decks overlooking the river. We had a sunset dinner on one where even with higher temperature than we were used to the shade of the bank of trees and breeze off the river made it enjoyable. Only drawback was that our site backed up to the motel parking so when several of the motel guests left near 5am we heard them.

I stayed in the upper area which does not have a river view and is just a gravel parking lot in front of the hotel. I did walk down to the area by the river and it was nice, grassy and pleasant spaces. The space was level, it was well-marked off the road and the road has been paved (another reviewer said it was rough) so very nice and smooth.
It’s a short drive to a couple of gas stations, one of which has a Subway inside but there didn’t seem to be any other places to eat or shop nearby.

We got a 30 amp site to save money. They take Passport America. We stayed near the front because we arrived really late. The owner was very nice and let us check-in late check-out late because I had to work. The river was very nice for my two boys to play in. The water was very clear!
If you stay here you have to go to the Wagon Wheel restaurant just down the road!

Beware. This park loses power ALL THE TIME. Must have a generator if you want to stay at this park or be without power. This park is new ownership, but they have a long road ahead of them to get everything up and running properly and safely for future guests. That includes updating the power. A lot of updates are needed, once these updates are completed then it should be a nice park. It is a very older park and needs a lot of attention. The pool is not open, was told it needs repairs and should be open sometime soon. The only plus of this park is the River beach access to enjoy a nice swim in the river or go for a boat ride if you bring your own boat. Beware power always goes out and when the power goes out the water is off as well.

We stopped here on our travels for the night. We had NO problems with services or utilities. We camped right next to the river in a beautiful quiet spot. Other than a little music from another guest (not bad), the only sounds were vehicles in the distance and the sounds of birds in the morning. The staff was VERY friendly and kind.

We were only there a couple nights, but there were quite a few long term guests. The couple next to us planned to be there a month. We enjoyed riverfront site 16. Water, sewer, and power hookups at the site. Everything worked perfectly.
The laundry facility was clean and affordable ($1.75 wash; $1.50 for 45 minutes dry). The game room has a pool table and ping pong. Showers were clean enough, but they were also free and the water had great pressure and temperature control.
This was the perfect in-town stop for us to rest and resupply in between boondocking spots. We’d definitely stay here again.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly but we stayed in a spot that was too small for our motorhome and we were in a pile of dust there was much nicer spots I don’t know why she did not give them to us and other campers we were right by the hotel and at night you had to run a fan So you couldn’t hear the people in the hotel talking I think it would be an awesome place if you got to stay in a parking spot where there was actually gravel underneath your rig rather than dust dust and dirt we walked the dogs and there was lots of nice spaces wished we would have gotten one we were there for three days but luckily we left every day so we didn’t have to deal with the dirt right outside our RV we were looking into someone else’s RV there is a nicer place to stay in this park Tip to make it a better experience is to ask for a spot that you can see the river or up above the river there is lots of nice Spots their empty ones while we were there also

We love it at Fenders! We stayed for 2 months at the end of 2020, and it was such a wonderful tropical retreat in the desert! Management and the other campers were amazing and friendly! We will return when me make it back west.

Arrived after dark and self-serviced registration next to the Fender’s Motel office door. No phone answer that late in the evening also. Very helpful and friendly custodian/manager in a golf cart the next morning welcomed me and gave me the overnight rate for these front sites across from the motel ($38.50) without Passport America’s discount. Easy back in and quiet night. Grateful they were accommodating. Earl
