The North Cove Overlook is a bucket list destination for Railroad enthusiasts. Watch trains climb out of the valley below and up the engineering marvel known as “The Loops” as they struggle to cross the Blue Ridge at McKinney Gap. This was the site of the original scenic mountain highway known as the Crest of the Blue Ridge Highway whose concept inspired the later creation of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It also provides views of Peppers Creek, North Cove and Dobson Knob.
