Big Rhodes Overlook is located just four miles outside of the town of Cashiers and is considered the best place in the area to experience the "Shadow of the Bear" phenomena that occurs on Whiteside Mountain in late fall and early spring. Parking is $2, paid on the honor system. Be sure to use caution when crossing the road!
