Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on July 30, 2021This is a concession managed USFS campground on the Upper Flathead River. Just the other side of the river is Glacier NP. The spaces are wide and dispersed enough hat you feel uncrowded. Bathrooms are vault toilets and could stand to be cleaned more often by the hosts.
The real reason to stay is the proximity to Glacier NP. If you go north along N Fork Road, you can access Glacier through a little used route. If towing, be aware- coming up from Columbia Falls is 7.5 miles of washboard....
If you flyfish, you'll be in heaven. Cutts and I managed a nice Bull Trout. All we're caught and released.

Big Creek Campground is a 20 minute drive from Apgar Visitor Center and the last 3 miles are on a dirt/gravel road which can be messy after a rain. We were using solar for the majority of the time and needed to use our generator the last day to bring the batteries back up. Site 15 would be the one to choose if you have solar; wide open space with plenty of clear sky. Flat River had a great flow rate, so we had plenty of burbling water sounds for a relaxing afternoon by the water.
Big Creek Campground costs $16 per night, we have the senior pass that brought the price down to $11 per night, this includes their registration fees.

This campground was remote and glorious. Our site was right on the river allowing for some splash time. Our site was also huge, private, and felt like we were in our own little corner of the universe. The only downside was the hosts - they were unwilling to allow us to stay in another spot that we found we liked more than what we had reserved, even though the campground was empty. And they were quite rude about it. But I'd still stay here again for the remote, tranquil experience.

This quiet, remote campground was close to the Camus Creek entrance to Glacier National Park. The road to the campground is quite bumpy but once there the campground itself is quiet and the sites are large. We were steps from the Flathead River and when not in the park we were casting our fishing lines in the river.

We arrived late afternoon in our 21ft travel trailer hoping to snag a first come first serve spot. The camp host Pam was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to find us a spot. The river that runs along the campground was perfect for cooling of after a long day in the park. The sites are spacious and clean, with fire pits, tables and food storage. Pam was frequently about the park checking on guests and cleaning up. Looking forward to staying here again!
