Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 11, 2024If you have a big rig, call to make sure there's a spot for you. They are limited and the demand is great.
Most spots are back in and there are quite a few pull throughs, again call and book before you arrive.
The park is nice, wooded environment, pool, water, sewer, no internet and no cable. You can pick up about 33 digital over the air stations, we could not find analog signals.
Park owner is a nice guy to talk with, is an rv'er himself so has a lot of knowledge, the staff are friendly and they even have a store with basic necessities including firewood. No barbeque stations, bring your own.
There is way too many yapping dogs here for my liking, non stop yap yap yap yap yap.
The pool is nice, quite a big sized pool, clean and well kept. I can't comment on the shower rooms nor the restrooms.

We chose this location because of its proximity to Morgantown. It was a full hook-up site. We had a pull through site. The site was roomie. The campground was clean and quiet. It was okay for kids, because it was quiet and safe. The pool not being open was disappointing. Good Sam discount was the rate price.

This is a peaceful and overall well maintained campground. The front desk staff was friendly. They have an arcade, laundry facility and pool (was under renovation when I was there). The campground is a decent size if you want to go on a walk or short run. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is it was challenging to level because the big gravel rocks on the site. I would love to come back here in the future.

We full time, we need internet for work. We checked the Verizon cell coverage on multiple sites and it said ti would be fine. We have starlink & there was virtually no coverage at all with all the trees. We ended up having to drive an hour away to work. If you want to get away from the world, this is certainly an escape from internet, not much to do though. But if you need to do a job, avoid at all costs.
Aside from that, the sewer system is VERY messed up. We religiously flush our black, keep it closed always and the sewer here had gnats coming up the pipes, our sewer which has never smelled anywhere else ever for months, was horrid smelling here. We moved campgrounds, zero problem. Half the bath houses are out of order and they smell from 200 feet away.
Now, onto the water. We JUST replaced our water filters, we have one attached at the spiket, and then two additional filters with a two stage and a brita filter. They were white before we got to the campground. After 4 days of use, there was MUD IN THE FILTER and they are brown. We both felt sick here. Now we know why.
Now onto the campsites themselves. Depending on the site it’s spacious. But there is not much or any grass. We have two dogs and they love to play so this was a let down for all gravel. When we arrived at 3pm there was someone in our spot who was suppose to be gone. They tried to put us somewhere else. He apparently didn’t want to get wet packing up (tough nuggets dude) and refused to leave. The owner tried to put us in his personal spot which was appreciated as a gesture… but they didn’t check our rig length and we never would have fit which left us making a 30 point turn because it was a long one way road. Then they finally found us a spot that could fit us. It took about 2 hours of us getting shoved around to find a spot. They did refund us a day which was appreciated but I really do hope this was a one time fluke.
We will not be back.

Fact check: There are no springs and definitely no sand. This campground has potential. It is close off the highway at the top of the hill. It has nice tall trees so you actually feel like you're in the woods. The pool was open and looked maintained. There was a little game room with a pool table, air hockey, and a few arcade games. Sites vary in size. Our site was very rocky, even in the "grassy" area, there was nowhere comfortable for our dog to stretch out.
The bathroom situation overshadowed the positives though. One restroom was closed indefinitely. The only other restroom/showerhouse was not cleaned or restocked the entire Memorial Day weekend we were there. At one point, Hubby went up front to inform the lady the Men's room was out of toilet paper. She said it would be hours before she could get to it and could he please take the TP there for her? So he did. And that TP roll stayed on the counter the whole weekend since no one bothered to unlock the dispenser and put it away. The women's ran out of TP, paper towels, and soap. I did not even bother to check the cleanliness of the showers.
2 stars since we loved the tall trees and the proximity to Cooper's Rock State Forest, the reason for our stay. If I ever visited the area again, I would camp somewhere else.

I really liked the woodsy atmosphere. I will say that I was in Rv but the tent sites are awesome. This was like camping in a state or national park. I have no knowledge of bathroom conditions unfortunately for me it rained the whole time I was there, I would have liked to stay more than 1 night.

We only stayed one night and it was nice and quiet. It’s about three miles from the freeway and narrow road. It’s in the middle of the woods so bring enough groceries if planning to stay awhile. Bathhouse is okay.
