“luxury tented camping in Moab (glamping)”

7 miles north of Moab, Utah lies a camping resort that's a cut above the rest. Nestled amongst canyons, plateaus, and panoramic views that will leave you in awe, Moab Under Canvas is 40 acres of pristine natural beauty. It's minutes away from Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Booking starts at just $89. Meanwhile, I think I found my next road trip destination... I'm not sure America's early pioneers would consider this "roughing it," but they all had dysentery, so whatever. If you're in the mood for the ultimate "glamping" experience, then the Safari tent is what you're looking for. Each tent sleeps two adults and two children. However, if you're going to bring your kids, I'd recommend you and the missus take the Safari tent, and the kids can stay in a tipi tent right next to you. Up to four kids can fit in the tipi tents. Worried about bathroom facilities? Well, that's nonsense! Moab Under Canvas has luxury bathrooms complete with showers, toilets, sinks...and spa products! The Safari tents also come with a wood burning stove and firewood. I mean, COME ON! The night sky here is so clear, it's kinda like camping at a planetarium! Clearly-marked trails will lead you to wherever you want to go. If we're being honest with each other, I'll probably just be sitting here mesmerized by that view. If you're more of a budget-conscious adventurer, then the Tipi tents are perfect. Up to four people can fit in one, and the tents come with cots, mattress padding, sleeping bags, pillows, towels, chairs, a table and lantern. So, you just have to show up! -Roadtrippers Moab Under Canvas is located on 40 acres 7 miles north of Moab, Utah, just moments away from the entrance to both Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. With views across the desert towards Arches, the camp blends into its dramatic surroundings where deep canyons and towering plateaus create a raw landscape of immense power. If you ever wondered what it would be like to really experience the desert, now you need wonder no more. Our luxurious tents offer guests the opportunity to enjoy Utah’s spectacular desert without giving up the comforts of home. This is no traditional camp site. This is camping as it should be.

Really enjoyed my stay here. I got one of the rooms with a huge bed and private shower etc for about $800 for 3 nights in September. I had a view right out towards Arches National Park which was amazing. The staff were lovely, but a little more disorganized than you would find in a hotel. That's fine though so am I. I will definitely stay here next time I am in Moab, and try the other locations too.

Only stayed one night but it was so much fun! We were driving a lot so we didn't get to experience the community bomb fire but what a neat idea! The tents were very nice, clean. The bathrooms were individual, which I liked. This is the perfect place to stay if you'll be in the area for a couple of days. Can't wait to go back! The whole staff was friendly and accommodating.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was fantastic. The tent was comfortable and the view was amazing. I would absolutely do it again, there are also locations near Glacier NP and Yellowstone NP.

Beautiful scenery! Perfect weather, away from the city so be prepared to drive up a little further. You can see the stars so perfectly at night. Nature surrounds you, the bathrooms are good, the staff is friendly.... It's a must to be here if you're near ! Definitely a mini romantic get away.

I had an amazing visit. Only stayed one night. We stayed in a Safari tent & a really bad thunderstorm hit while we were there & the tent held good. The breakfast was good, but maybe not worth 12$. However, everything was clean & the worker were very nice and helpful. I will definitely be back soon!

Had a great stay here! A thunderstorm hit during our stay, and spent about half an hour in the car waiting for all the wind and rain to pass. Because our tipi flaps were open, some rain got in. :/ However, other than the bad weather, we had a nice stay. The sunrise was gorgeous over the ridges. Moab was a short drive, and there were many different options to eat or shop. Arches National Park was a quick drive over from the campsite. I would recommend to anyone feeling adventurous.

Let me start by saying the view is spectacular. The deluxe tent is beautifully decorated, bed incredibly comfortable, the bathroom is spacious enough with a door for privacy, shower is heated by a propane tank and warm water at sink as well. We stayed 3 nights.

Now for the unpleasant and hazardous. Mother Nature dealt us horrible weather. We completely understand Under Canvas “can’t control the weather” which is their scripted response. We had 3 nights of rain, snow, hail, sleet and high winds to the point we actually asked what the tents can withstand as we were expecting gusts up to 40mph with temps each night hovering around 30-32degreesF. The people (including us) who stay at Under Canvas tend to be outdoorsy people and understand weather happens. What we couldn’t live with was the SMOKE from the wood burning stove that permeated the tent once the wind kicked up. It was horrible!

Our biggest complaint is Under Canvas is very, very, very, aware of the issue for many years and all employees respond with the same scripted response, “we can’t control the weather”. They are so aware they will provide you with extra blankets. The smoke is a heath hazard! We ended up having to let the fire burn itself out, sleep with vents to the tent open to let the smoke out, and no fire (i.e. no heat) the 2nd or 3rd night.

The tent does have propane (for shower and sink)..... isn’t there a way to provide a safe heating alternative to the tents with the use of propane as you are paying for a “glamping” experience?

Which brings me to money. This deluxe tent comes with a price tag of $1453.71 for 3 nights. That’s $484.57 per night!!!! To sleep with no heat, due to a problem they are aware of!!!! There is a $40.01 camp fee nightly. Upon check out I asked 2 employees, both were unable to tell me what the fee was for.

We so wanted to love every second of this experience. It was underwhelming for sure. The view deserves its praises. The young staff is nice enough. “Glamping” at that price we shouldn’t have to ask for towels (none come in room), clean out our own wood burning stove, and most importantly worry about the health hazard of smoke filling the tent due to known issues with wood burning stove. Travel and Leisure magazine I hate to say it but you got this one wrong ........

Really friendly and helpful staff. Our tent even had a shower which was excellent. You can just make out Arches national park in the distance and Moab is a short drive away. There is a little road noise but not enough to distract from the scenery.

The tents are incredible, the view only making it that much better. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with question about the parks and things around town. Everything was incredibly clean as well.
