Rondee's Campground

The photo at the top of the page is not a photo of the indoor water park at Rondee's. We chose Rondee's because it had a waterpark - the one they have is inside a hotel next door. It was a servicable one-night-only, no-frills, campground. The electric, sewer, water and cable all worked. But other than the pool, there was nothing else there.

6-16-14. A very small campground that more reminds me of a place where transient workers would live. unless you just need a place to stop for the night it's not really worth staying. The indoor water park is a pool with a big slide and it will cost you 5$. Mitchell SD really does not have much to offer.

We stayed for the monthly rate of $400 with full hookups. The campground sits behind Days Inn just off I90 in Mitchell, SD. Most rigs here are staying for 30 days or more, but nobody has excess items sitting out that would turn off some people. Quieter area than you would expect being just off the highway.

I stayed here 3 nights using Passport America for $16. There is no office, you checkin at the Days Inn service desk There was a laundry room in an outside entrance facing the park (not in the hotel) with 4 washers and4 dryers that take quarters. There were bathrooms and showers but I didn't check them out.

The park was at a great location, everything was close that you'd need: gas, Walmart, UPS, hardware store, etc. The park tends to get mostly overnight guests, and it's a little noisy being so close the the road.

The site was gravel and pretty level, no issues with the utilities. I never saw any employee on the site the whole time I was there.

We needed a spot to spend the night. The park is a bit hard to find, it is tucked behind the Days Inn and truck repair shop. You check in and pay at the Days Inn office. The bathroom and showers were very clean. It’s not scenic but for a safe clean spot, $16 is a deal.

It was a perfect place to hang put for a week and take a break from sightseeing. The weekly rate works out to a little more than $16 a night with tax. They have a nice laundry room. $1.50 for washer and same for dryer. The dryer full dried a complete load from the washer. Right next door to Arby's. Level lots and good cell coverage.

Great place to get off I90 and get a quiet night sleep. Very convenient off interstate and all spots were fairly flat and pull in sites. Would stay again.

Heading East, spent the day in The Badlands, needed a spot for the night.
Perfect! Great price for full hookup. Town of Mitchell has shopping and restaurants. Bought local beef to take home with us at Mitchell Meat Locker.
Check in at Days Inn was efficient.

This campground is behind a Daisy in. Sites are very close together but have electric and water and a picnic table. It also has nice bathrooms and nice showers. I stayed here going north and decided to stay here again coming back down south. You actually check in at the hotel front desk.

We arrived in Mitchell with a plan to boondock for the night, but with the high temps we needed somewhere with an electrical hookup. I found this place quickly on this website and booked it over the phone. It’s right in downtown Mitchell and extremely close to all of the restaurants as well as the freeway. All of the sides are pull through and it was extremely easy to get in and then back out in the morning. It was super low price too! Overall a great spot to spend a night or two.
