“Minneapolis’ oldest and most popular parks”
Overlooking the Mississippi River, Minnehaha Park is one of Minneapolis’ oldest and most popular parks, attracting over 850,000 thousand visitors annually. Located at the intersection of Hiawatha Avenue and Minnehaha Parkway, the 193-acre park features a 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs and river overlooks. The park contains oak, elm, silver maple, basswood, hackberry and cottonwood trees, as well as native and prairie woodland wild flowers. Visitors take advantage of abundant activities in the summer, including concerts, picnics, walking, biking, and viewing the Falls. It's also become a popular site for weddings. Walking the lower trails in autumn reveals beautifully changing leaves.
The park has many trails and paths for hiking. The falls are usually very big in the spring. There are even trails to hike beneath the falls. There is a restaurant in the park and bike rental.
Could be cleaner, but beautiful spot. Love to go in the winter time!
Restaurant is closed until spring 2020, but the waterfall is beautiful and the leaves are changing.
This park is beautiful and definitely worth the stop. Great place for picnic.
This was a nice stop. I didn't even know it was here and I've been to the area many times! You will pay for parking, it's metered. $2 an hour. Lots of trails to explore. Extremely beautiful. Falls are the highlight for sure. They have 1-2-and 4 seater bike rentals. There's a play-ground and a pavillion also.
Minnehaha Falls is beautiful! Couple different places for great photo ops of and with the falls. Was beautiful in the summer! Look forward to going in the winter when the falls are frozen as well! Have seen some amazing pictures taken behind the frozen falls!
