Renowned Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant, bakery, deli, and grocery. The gyros are some of the best in the United States, and the chicken curry gyros are very original and tasty. It's hard to go wrong with their menu, which is especially friendly towards vegetarians. A buffet is offered during lunch-time 7 days a week, plus dinner-time on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some of their breads and hummus appear in grocery stores across the Twin Cities, but you can get them cheaper right from the source.
Grabbed some lunch at Holy Land in Minneapolis...Tjr Mrs had the Chicken Lovers Combo (Chicken Kabobs, Chicken Gyro, Greek Chicken, Chicken Kufta Kabob)...I opted for the Arabic Shawirma Lovers Combo (Chicken, Beef&Lamb). Very tasty, great seasoning and sauces for dipping. The Basmati rice is very good in it's own right and a piece of Honey Cake was brought out for each of us with our meals. Everything was just right on the spice levels and the staff were very pleasant.
We were stuffed and brought back some decent amount of leftovers to the motel room. Great sized portions for the price.
Free parking out behind the restaurant and you wander though the grocery area before reaching the restaurant area. Straight ahead is where you'll find the menus and register where you'll place your order and pay...they give you a number to place on your table. They bring your food to you and bus the tables when you are done.
