Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on May 02, 2022We love this campground. Aspen trees , huge granite boulders, & great views of the mountains above. It's only $18 a night. The vault toilets were the cleanest I've ever seen. There are no showers, just fyi. The fishing is good, & your right next to the river on the lower loop. The upper loop is a bit more quiet, further from the road. It's not a place for big rv's, & site 12 is the worst in my opinion. Best camping in the area.

Great small campsite that was kept very clean, no hookups, pit toilets, drinking water and garbage dumpster available. No dimp station . All of the sites are placed in a very pristine setting among large granite boulders and aspen groves. Easy access from the road, and even easier access to Carson River. Hope Valley is great fly fishing spot. $18.00 per night, $6.00 for an additional vehicle.
Note that there is plenty of Boondocking camps available in the short vicinity but ther tend to be accessible vid rough Forest Service dirt roads. There are plenty of stores nearby for basic necessities.

We took our 23ft trailer out for some spring camping. We chose this site because it was open on a first come, first serve basis. We had no problem finding a nice riverside campsite and it was self register. It was not full so super quiet people wise. I would give it a 5 but you do hear the road noise. I would love to go back in the Fall when the Aspens are turning their vibrant colors. Although we were self contained, they did have a clean vault toilet and potable water not to far from the site.

Stopped here for an overnight stop and ended up staying an extra day. Fishing was great. Not much space for any trailer over 23'. This will now be a destination spot for us.
