No fires, no tables, but there are nearby pavilions available for cooking and eating. Bathrooms weren't quite as clean as others we had seen, but it was a flush toilet and there was a sink with water. It was the only one we had come to all week and couldn't find a space. It was late, so we figured it was one night; no harm, no foul if we set up our tents for one night and leave. We had no big problems, but we could tell the locals were used to strangers sleeping in their nearby city park. There are gas stations in town, but if you want a cup of coffee in the morning, you might want to bring some cash.

I stayed here last night, Father's Day 2019. It's a small town public park that's closed to the public after 11pm, except for campers. There are 10 sites with free water/electric hookup, pavilions, & bathrooms (may not be open at all times, but there are also porta-potties and a hand wash station).
The park features two ballparks, and a community pool. Though there was not a ball game when I was there the locals, who were extremely friendly, were out in large numbers and it seems this park is very popular among them with lots of regular community activities. The pool is open Mon-Fri 1-5pm & 6-8pm. Sat-Sun 1-6pm.
I walked into town and had a draft at Bud's Tavern just outside the park. The tavern looks like it may be a rough place from the outside, but I found the people inside just as friendly as those at the park.
I did not have cell service at the Park, but that's probably because I'm on the Sprint network. ..definitely time to change as I continue to travel west. I saw other people on their phones, and I suspect service was fairly good on other networks. There is a mill nearby, maybe 1 mile away, that is a little noisy, but you will not hear it during the day over the other activity in the park, or inside your camper at night.

A great, well maintained park other than the bathroom which was very dirty!! It needs scrubbing!! If not for the bathrooms we would have rated the park a 5.

Wow! Great little park! 7 spots, shared pedestal , electric/water at site. The park appears lovingly cared for. It has a pool, and new playground equipment, but never noisy. We had a great shady spot,a pond with a busy little beaver behind our spot. Sat out each night enjoying the warm breezes and watching a local softball game that was played at the park. Surprisingly bug free even with all the rain they have had. One night we walked to the local tavern, nice locals to chat with. Around the corner, also walking distance, a very cute cafe and malt shop.

Great park, well cared for. Has a pool, and very nice updated park and tot lot. Also has two new looking baseball diamonds. Shared pedestal for water and electric. 4 sites grouped together, two others across the park. We had a nice shady spot under a tree with a pond behind it. Even with all the rain we were surprised very few bugs. Enjoyed sitting outside watching a softball game. A nice local tavern just a block away, also really nice cafe/ malt shop on the same block. Very quiet, and would return again in a heartbeat!

We stayed close to the ball fields as it was on gravel and rain was expected. Only two other campers here. What an excellent campground for families with children. Lots of green grass, space to run, playgrounds, ball fields and public pool. You can’t beat free. Thank you Hieb City for keeping it free and welcoming us to your town. If you stay, be sure and visit the grocery store, tavern and malt shop.

Thank you Marion,SD for the great place to stay. It was about 30 min off I90 in a cute little town.
We pulled in around 9 pm and all sites looked taken. There was a couple who were parked in a site but were boondocking. We were able to park next to them and plug in. 30 amp breaker was popped out slightly and did not work so we used the 20 amp that worked nicely.
The bathrooms had 2 flush toilets, 1 was large for handicap accessible. They were not bad, sink was clean, toilets were clean. The floor had dirt on the concrete but hey its FREE and better than some pit toilets we used in other free sites. Grateful to have them pit/vaulted or the ones in this beautiful place.
The park is beautiful and well kept. Volleyball, softball, picnic, a creek, garbage, pavillion, dump station.
The day we left 2 others said they were on the way out. The 4 sites by the creek are popular, I am not sure they move much. 2 other sites are just before turning into the park and 2 near the softball field by the dump station and toilet building.
Overall we would stay again. It was quiet and everyone respected the rules.
If you have dogs take a stroll over the wooden bridge to a nice place to let them off leash. Remember to pick up after them and keep it nice for everyone!
