Remember General Sherman, and the fact that several of the buildings in the area were burned to the ground? Well, that’s one of the main scenes in the book and movie Gone with the Wind, and you can find out all about it when you head to the Gone with the Wind Museum.

The museum is housed in the historic Brumby Hall, built in 1851. The museum features an extensive collection of memorabilia relating to the book and movie, though you don’t have to be a die-hard fan to enjoy it.

I dare you to walk out without, at some point, quoting the famous line, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn,” exactly as Rhett told Scarlett in his last words to her.

We think a visit here is one of the best things to do in Marietta.
